Corresponding authors affiliated with the Spanish National Research Council – Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) are now eligible to publish open access (OA) in most Taylor & Francis and Routledge journals at no cost to themselves.
This ‘read & publish’ agreement between Taylor & Francis Group and the CSIC, combines continued access to Taylor & Francis subscription journals with the opportunity to publish OA in over 2,000 titles. The publishing element includes both full open access and Open Select (hybrid) journals.
You don’t need to do anything. All accepted research meeting the requirements below will automatically be considered by CSIC for open access publication under this agreement. If funding for your article is approved, you will receive an email asking you to choose a publishing license. Please select the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which is the option mandated by the CSIC. The vast majority of Taylor & Francis and Routledge journals are part of this agreement, including full open access and Open Select (hybrid) titles. Only those titles with the highest article publishing charges and subscription-only journals are excluded. Please speak to your librarian to check whether the journal you are submitting to is covered by this agreement.
Yes, the Spanish National Research Council and Taylor & Francis have agreed a maximum number of open access articles to be published for each year of this partnership. Please be aware that this limit might therefore be reached before the end of a year, at which point the open access publishing element of the agreement will be paused until the beginning of the following year.
