About the speaker

Oleksandr Berezko is an Associate Professor at Lviv Polytechnic National University and Co-founding President of INOSI, the Institute for Open Science and Innovation. Oleksandr holds a Ph.D. in computer science. He is an ex-President and Advisory Board Member of Eurodoc, the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers, and an active Open Science advocate. During 2021-2022 Dr. Berezko coordinated the National Plan for Open Science development in Ukraine and is now leading an international consortium Open4UA working on its implementation.

Alicia Estacio Gómez has a BSc in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. She also obtained her PhD in Molecular Biology there, before moving to the UK to work as postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London. In 2021 she joined Open Research Europe to work as a Content Acquisition Editor, where she oversees the areas of Biological and Medical sciences, Computer and Information sciences, and Mathematics. 

Georgina Durowoju is a Publishing Executive for Open Research Europe, where she is responsible for the Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Materials Engineering, and the Health & Clinical Science portfolios on the platform. Recently, she completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering, and she also possesses a Master’s by Research in Organic Chemistry & Microbiology as well as a degree in Pharmaceutical Science. She has a keen interest in Open Research and a key part of her role is supporting researchers in their endeavours to participating in Open Research practices and principles.
