What can open research values bring to research assessment reform?

What the event covered

The webinar covers the requirements of research assessment today and discusses the opportunities particularly presented by open research publishing to help to support greater inclusivity and responsible research behaviors and practices.

    About the speaker

    Rebecca Hill is a Strategic Partnership Manager at F1000. Since 2011, she has worked in various editorial and partnership roles in the academic publishing industry.

    Dr. David Moher is a Senior Scientist at Clinical Epidemiology Program, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he directs the centre for journalology. He is also a Full Professor at the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, where he holds a University Research Chair. Dr. Moher has been involved in developing the science of how to optimally conduct and report systematic reviews for most of his professional career. Another part of his research has focused on how best to develop reporting guidelines.

    Simon Hettrick is a Professor at Southampton University and a Deputy Director at the Software Sustainability Institute. He works with stakeholders from across the research community to develop policies that support research software, the people who develop that software and the researchers who rely on it. Simon’s research focuses on the use of software in the research community with the aim of understanding practices and demographics.
