To get deeper into the topic, Taylor & Francis explores the insights of two Editors-in-Chief from our journals. In this latest webinar, we were delighted to host Professor Emeritus Shan Lu, Editor-in Chief of Emerging Microbes and Infections and Professor Kenneth Adler, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of General Medicine.
Jessica Elferink, our Desk Editor manager started the session by guiding us on selecting journals and understanding Open Access. Our speakers then discussed Open Access publishing opportunities, their expert perspectives, and current trends.
Shan Lu is a physician-scientist recognized as one of the pioneers in DNA vaccine technology. He is a global leader in vaccine science with significant experience in managing large multi-institute biomedical research and product development programmes in the field of novel vaccines.
Currently, he is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Emerging Microbes & Infections journal.
Kenneth Adler is a Distinguished Graduate Professor of Cell Biology at North Carolina State University. He has published over 150 medical journal papers and reviewed manuscripts for over 120 medical journals. He has received substantial NIH funding, including a MERIT award.
Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA and serves as Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of General Medicine journal.
Jessica Elferink is an experienced professional in the fields of microbiology and biotechnology, currently serving as an Desk Editor Manager at Dove Medical Press. Prior to this role, Jessica worked as a Laboratory Technician at AsureQuality and was involved in various research internships at AgResearch and Massey University, Technische Universität Berlin, and Leiden University.
Her work focuses on topics such as gut barrier integrity, antifungal protein purification, and virulence factors of Clostridium difficile. Jessica holds a Master of Science in Microbial Biotechnology and Health, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology, both from Leiden University.
